Wakin Albums Now at Apple iTunes Stores!
Rock Records Co. (Taiwan) has made available 11 complete Wakin Chau albums at Apple.com iTunes Music Stores (ITMS) in the U.S., Japan, Canada, and Australia. These CDs will show up at ITMS Europe (www.apple.com/uk/itunes, www.apple.com/fr/itunes, www.apple.com/de/itunes) in one to two weeks. In addition to Wakin's music, 3 CDs from Jackie Chan, 4 from Mayday, and 3 from Fish Leong are also on the shelf at iTunes. All artists' names as well as song and album titles are in English, making it very easy to search for their music! More Rock Records CDs will become available in the future. China Using Artificial Rain to Clear Dust
 [BEIJING] Beijing will use artificial rainmaking to clear the air after a choking dust storm coated China's capital and beyond with yellow grit, prompting a health warning to keep children indoors, state media said Tuesday. The huge storm blew dust far beyond China's borders, blanketing South Korea and reaching Tokyo. The storm, reportedly the worst in at least five years, hit Beijing overnight Sunday, turning the sky yellow and forcing residents to dust off and hose down cars and buildings. Hospitals reported a jump in cases of breathing problems, state television said. The government was preparing to seed clouds to make rain to clear the air, state TV said, citing the Central Meteorological Bureau. [Continued]
Taipei needs improvement in English, say foreigners
[Taiwan Headlines] Taipei's English-language environment is better than elsewhere in Taiwan, but English services in the capital's service industries should be improved, a survey found on Tuesday. The poll, conducted by the city government's Research, Development and Evaluation Commission, interviewed 300 foreign visitors and residents last October and November and found that 83 percent of foreign visitors and 66.4 percent of foreign residents were satisfied with Taipei's English-language environment, compared with the nation's overall approval rating of 36 percent. 東北から九州で黄砂 東京では６年ぶり
東北から九州までの広い範囲で１８日、黄砂が観測された。気象庁は「１８日夜にかけて、東日本、東北を中心に視程が５−１０キロ程度の黄砂が予想され、注意が必要」としている。気象庁によると、盛岡や秋田などの東北を含め、４５地点以上で黄砂を観測。東京では２０００年４月以来、６年ぶりに観測されたという。黄砂は、中国大陸の砂漠などで、強風に巻き上げられた砂が飛来し、空が黄色くかすんだように見える現象。今春は４月８日に５９地点で、飛来が記録されている。[共同通信 — 4月18日13時14分更新]
