I'm back.
I'm back in the NKF Charity Show this Sunday
because I know how compassionate the people of Singapore are.
And I want to continue supporting all of you to save lives.
I
will never forget what you did in April 2003 when I was there
for the Show. Despite SARS, despite the bad economy, despite
people losing their jobs, you looked beyond your own needs and
saved so many lives. You called and called when I performed,
and you broke all records in the 11-year history of the show
with 1.37 million calls.
Like you, ___, I too know how much kidney
patients have to suffer to live. To be able to bring even a little
light into their lives is a great thing, which is why I have
returned. And I am returning this time to perform with Taiwan's
"Godfather of Music" and my very close friend, Jonathan
Lee. He is a very celebrated Chinese singer, songwriter and music
producer.
When I told Jonathan about the patients,
he was very moved. Not just by the plight of the patients, but
also by how much friends like you have been helping to rebuild
their lives. Each one of the patients — someone's son, daughter,
father, mother, grandparent — has a place in my heart. I know
they all have a place in your heart too.
The Show is just a few days away. All my
friends, including Jonathan and I, are going through final rehearsals
in Taipei. We are practising and practising to produce a spectacular
show, one you will never forget. I hope and pray that, like in
2003, your compassion will flow for the poor patients.
